Printed cotton ' SFP ' armband for use by Supplementary/Street Fire Parties as issued from August 1940. The reorganisation and subsequent renaming of the Fire Guard in 1941 caused the issue of another armlet, in the interests of economy, a printed overlay was issued for stitching over the original symbol. 1939 dated, wooden ARP gas or alarm rattle. Dated and marked A.R.P. with a manufacturer's mark of ' W.Clements & Sons '. A carry over from the First World War when rattles were used, amongst other things to warn of the presence of gas. In good, clean and loud working order ! read more

1940 dated MkII helmet produced by Joseph Sankey & Sons for use by a Fire Watcher. Black painted with the letters ' F/W ' to the front in what appears to be luminous paint.
