Fire Watcher's lapel badge.

Silver gilt and enamel, lapel badge for a Fire Watcher. Badge worn by the force intended to stop the spread of fire caused by bombs in mainly industrial/business premises. Superceded in 1941 by the Fire Guard. Badge in good, used, bright, condition with undamaged enamel. The black spots in the image are in the enamel and have been emphasised in the photo.  read more

A family grouping of ration books issued by the Alton Food Office to a family living in Bordon, Hampshire. Consists of three R.B.1, two from the initial 1939 issue and one from 1941. There is a subsequent R.B.1/7 from 1944 and a clothing book CB1/6 from 1943. All items in good, used condition with cancelled and clipped coupons.  read more

Chrome and paint, pin back, ' rank ' bar for Centre Organiser. Introduced in 1940 and added to through the war.. Centre Organiser refers to WVS members employed in local WVS headquarters known as centres.
In good overall condtion, manufacturer marked ' Simpson, London ' . This example is the economy version with paint replacing enamel, unusually the paint is undamaged.  read more
