Daily Sketch War Relief Fund was an extension of an already exsisting fund run by the paper ' The Daily Sketch '. Brought into being in September 1939 the Fund collected money, knitted garments, radios and musical instruments for distribution, mainly to the Services. Gas-mask container in the form of a biscuit tin produced by Reads Ltd. of Liverpool for Elkes Biscuits. Brightly coloured with instructions concerning the care of the gas-mask to one side. Generally in excellent condition with some scratches and minor corrosion to lid. Paper label glued into the ' name ' box on the lid with barely decipherable address details. read more
