Heavy cotton armband with printed ' Fireman ' title. Armband secured by four heavy duty cotton ties. This armband was typical of a series produced early in the war before standardisation and nationalisation of the Civil Defence services. 44cm x 29cm approx. poster advertising a dance hosted by the BTH Apprentices Association in aid of their Hospitals Fund dancing to Ray Smith and his band with an exhortation to ' Bring Your Gas Mask ! '. BTH were British Thomson-Houston a British engineering and heavy industrial company, based at Rugby, Warwickshire.
