Voluntary Aid Detachments, VADs were made up of British Red Cross and St John Ambulance members. A scarce example of the WW2 ARP Nursing Overall. Blue cotton with fine white stripe, A-line dress with a square collar and belted waist. A separate fabric badge with embroidered red ARP letters was sewn centrally to the chest, this was later replaced by a yellow embroidered ' CD ' .
