Brass and enamel lapel badge for the London Auxiliary Ambulance Service. The LAAS was spawned from the London Volunteer Ambulance Service formed in 1938 and was renamed on the outbreak of war. The badge was introduced sometime in 1940/41.
Manufactured by Roden, London this example is in good, used condition with a minor surface abrasion and marked 1939 to reverse. Increasingly uncommon. read more

Embroidered cotton on bluette AFS Birmingham breast badge. In good overall condition with obvious indications of having been cut from a uniform retaining the overall material. Clearly having seen use with snags and marking but characterful. Previously mounted in an album or display with glue residue to reverse. read more

1940 dated Mk2/3 helmet for use by an unidentified factory ( R.G.B. ) First Aid personnel. Grey painted shell with stencilled designation to the front, dated and manufacturer marked to rim. Fitted with a size 7 MkII liner by Briggs Motor Bodies. Good, used condition with some light corrosion to rim with a slightly dusty interior. read more
