The badge was initially issued to volunteer domestic staff giving part-time hospital service for over 96 hours per month. In April 1942 the issue was extended to all hospital staff other than doctors and nurses. In excellent, clean condition, manufacturer marked 'HWM' (Millers).  read more

This police organisation comprised retired police officers who had volunteered to serve again during an emergency. As manpower demands grew during the war the FPR amounted to just over 2000 men by 1945.

PAMS consisted of 500 full time and a large number of part time youths between 16 and 18 who were employed as Police messengers. Put into uniform in 1941 and disbanded in 1945  read more
