Enamel and white metal pinback badge for the Ministry of Health Evacuation Nurseries. Evacuation nurseries had originated as an offshoot of the Government evacuation scheme in 1939 and grew in size and importance as the numbers of women replacing men in industry grew.

Official issue ARP Beret. Official nomenclature ' A.R.P. 68A ', indicating an austerity pattern. Size 7 manufactured by A & J.Gelfer in 1942 with markings and inspection marks printed to the glazed cotton half lining. Nicely toned silver ARP lapel badge used as a cap badge.
