Early WVS armband in unfinished state. This style of armband was introduced in the summer of 1940 as a standard pattern for the WVS with a 100,000 being made by a London company. This badge was worn by non uniformed British volunteers working at Rainbow Corner the largest of the ARC clubs in London situated between Piccadilly and Leicester Square.
