Embroidered sleeve badge worn by members of ' Y ' Zone staff. ' Y ' Zone stretched from Hornsey to Cheshunt , the badge in the colours of the Middlesex Regt., whose cap badge was worn by all battalions, has three bayonets that make up an inverted Y. 190mm x 190mm Window card for the WVS Housewives Service. Printed by Fosh & Cross in 1940 and designed to be placed in the windows of members of the WVS who were unable to leave home because of domestic commitments but were trained to help the Civil Defence services in their locality. In excellent, clean condition with a handwritten notation to the reverse ' Property of WVS Kingston.'

24 x 36cm approx poster entitled ' Mein Pal ' with a caricature of Hitler embracing the figure of a Home Guard with ' Absentee ' emblazoned across his back. Created by the artist John.S.Smith this well known poster was printed for HMSO by Wm.Brown & Co., London. In good, used condition with some creasing and minor nibbles, has been laid onto paper.
